Gays and the law! Dean Trantalis interviews Howard Finkelstein, Broward County's lead public defender, to find out how the law has treated people in the LGBT community through the years, and how the law addresses gay and lesbian issues, at the criminal level, today.
This is a frank discussion of the abuses of power at the hands of the police, the Broward Sheriff's Office, the racial profiling of African Americans and how the police in South Florida use certain laws, even today, to target certain ethnic groups and cultures.

Out and Legal! Florida's judiciary has been a legal battleground for gay and lesbian rights, but what happens when the judge is also gay? Dean interviewed three of Broward County's prominent jurists, all judges on the circuit or county courts in Fort Lauderdale.
Dean interviewed Circuit Court Judge Susan Greenhawt, the Administrative Judge for the Unified Family Division. Joining Judge Greenhawt: County Court Judge Robert Lee, the County Civil Chairperson, and Circuit Court Judge Lisa Porter, who was recently moved to the Circuit Criminal Division.

Gays and Adoption. The Out-Law Show for December 04 featured very special guest Robert Rosenwald, the former ACLU attorney who successfully argued to overturn Florida's ban on gays adopting children. The case went to the 3rd District Court of Appeals, which ruled unanimously that gay and lesbian parents were just as capable and just as loving as their non-gay counterparts.
Mr. Rosenwald details the fight to get money to argue the case, and the legal and political environment that prevailed at the time he got the case, which was on behalf of two gay men fighting to adopt a child they had reared in foster care for several years.

Women of Politics. The Out-Law Show for November 27 featured three lesbian commission women, from three separate cities, who have risen to prominence in South Florida. The program featured Wilton Manors Commissioner Julie Carson, Oakland Park Commissioner Sheri McCartney, and Margate Commissioner Lesa Peerman.
All three women discussed their views about lesbians and gays in the political arena, how their sexual orientation played a role in their respective campaigns and the future of city, state and federal laws affecting the LGBT community as more gays and lesbians rise to various positions as elected office holders.

No Bully Zone! The Out-Law Show for November 20 featured a roundtable discussion about bullying of gays and lesbians in schools and colleges around the United States and South Florida.
The program featured Jesse Wilson of the Gay Straight Alliance at Nova Southeastern University; Daren Capirchio, an admistrator from Nova Southeastern University; and Robert Loupo, the Executive Director of Safe Schools South Florida, an outreach and advocacty group based in South Florida that aims to bring information about bullying, and solutions to it, to school administrators, teachers, and students in public and private schools.

The lone Republican of the Broward County Commission, Chip LaMarca joined Dean Trantalis and former Wilton Manors Mayor Sandy Steen for Out-Law: America's Alternative Voice on Sunday, November 13, 2011.
The conversation ranged from the reasons for Chip LaMarca's decision to run against openly-gay incumbent Ken Keechl to Sandy Steen's position as the head of the Broward Log Cabin Republicans, a gay group, which is headed by a non-gay woman.

Al Lamberti was our featured guest on Out-Law for our November 6, 2011 broadcast and stream. The Broward County Sheriff was also joined by Commander Rick Wierzbicki of the BSO Hate Crimes Unit, and Michael Albetta, who is best known for his role with the Florida GLBT Democratic Caucus.
Dean Trantalis spoke with our guests about the changes in BSO policy toward the gay and lesbian community in South Florida, talk about Hate Crimes, bullying in our schools, and address many other issues surrounding the present political and legal climate impacing the GLBT community in South Florida and across the nation.

The very first broadcast and stream of Out-Law: America's Alternative Voice, was held on Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors, during the Wicked Manors Halloween Celebration. The show featured noted community leaders, including George Castrataro, John Castelli, Norm Kent and Elizabeth Schwartz.
The program marked a turning point in 21st Century Gay and Lesbian activism, bringing a new type of program to the airwaves and the Internet.
Host Dean Trantalis and his guests covered the extraordinary journey the GLBT community has taken during the past three decades in South Florida.
